Wiggling Words
by Kate Rolfe

Kate Rolfe gained lots of attention for her first children's picture book 'The Bear and the Wolf'. And she's likely to do the same with 'Wiggling Words' which has an important contemporary message and a nostalgic look.

The book tells the story of a small child struggling to read. They want to know what's happening, to understand the story and to get to the end of the book but the words keep jumping around the page, not making any sense.

Kate Rolfe is sharing the experience of what it is like with dyslexia or being neurodivergent, eager to help children to accept and overcome, and to build confidence.

She uses a combination of cyanotype and hand-printed letterpress blocks in her duotone illustrations. And it's stunning! A beautiful book with simple text and pictures which has a big impact. It's aimed at children aged three upwards. I loved it!
