My book review of 'The Antique Hunter's Death on the Red Sea' by CL Miller

by CL Miller

Freya and her aunt Carole leave the antique shop and their home in Suffolk to investigate mysterious thefts, and a murder, on a cruise ship.

A painting has been taken from a museum, and a body found nearby. When the trail leads to a glamorous cruise of antiques enthusiasts on the Red Sea in Jordan, Freya and Carole get on board to solve the mystery.

They soon find that the ship's gallery is filled with stolen antiquities, and solving the earlier crime leads them to uncover something far more sinister. Are Freya and Carole up to the task?

This was a very enjoyable read and, despite not being set in Suffolk, I found it more gripping and atmospheric than the first Antique Hunters book (but I do like the idea, if not the reality, of a cruise - Agatha Christie again). This is clearly going to be an entertaining and popular series and I look forward to seeing what setting, and what antiques, feature in the next book.
