My book review of 'My Friend Andy' by Emma Chinnery

This is a lovely picture book suitable for young readers aged three upwards, all about a dog who gets lost and relies on his friend, Andy, to look after him until he can find his way home again. But Andy lives with a homeless man.
Every day the little dog Fluffy walks through the city with Mum and Lilly. And every day, they walk past Andy. But they are never allowed to play with him. Until one day, Fluffy gets lost and he asks Andy and his Dad to help him find Lilly.
The story is told by Fluffy and the reader is encouraged to imagine how he feels lost in the city, meeting others with a very different experience of life from his own.
The illustrations are beautiful and it's a simply told story but with a powerful message about friendship, compassion and empathy.
