The Old Watering Can

Grandma has two watering cans which she carries to her greenhouse each day. One is brand new, the other is old and has a leak.
Whenever she reaches the greenhouse, Grandma has only one full can of water. The other can is half empty, but still she uses it.
One day the watering can apologises for not being up to the task. But Grandma reassures it. In fact, she says, the can is performing a very important purpose. The water that leaks out on Grandma's walk up the garden to the greenhouse falls on seeds which grow to become beautiful flowers which she shares with her neighbours.
This is a lovely, simple retelling of a beautiful story with vibrant, lively illustrations. There are instructions on growing seeds at the back, and a page for drawing and colouring a flower garden like Grandma's.
