We all live here

This is the story of the Kennedy family. Lila is a successful writer and mother of two teenage daughters. She thought she was happily married - how to be so was the subject of her bestselling book, in fact. But while she was enjoying the high life of book publicity, her husband was having an affair with a mum at their daughters' school.
Now Lila is bringing up her two girls, though her stepdad has recently moved in after Lila's mum died. They were all rubbing along OK, but then Lila's father turns up. He left Lila and her mum many years ago, chasing dreams of Hollywood. Now he's looking for work in London and expecting Lila to put him up.
There's plenty to contend with here as the family comes to terms with the shifting relationships, new and old. There's romance, humour, slapstick and farce at times, but also some poignancy as the issues of grief and marriage breakdown are all addressed and presented sensitively and with realism. It was a wonderful escape. A lovely, enjoyable read.
